<i>In vitro</i> activity of the ethanolic extracts of <i>Azadirachta indica</i> on the management of some fungal diseases affecting carrots in Sokoto state, Nigeria

This study investigated the effectiveness of seeds Azadrachta indica plant extract as botanical antimicrobials on some fungi isolates associated with carrot diseases in Sokoto State Nigeria. The were isolated from diseased plants selected farms (Moreh, Badageni and Ruggar Liman farms) area. was extracted using ethanol. common Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum, Mucor hiemalis Penicillium notatum. produced a zone inhibition 16.33 mm ± 2.52 against M. hiemalis. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) Fungicidal (MFC) then determined. MIC tested organisms inhibited growth at minimum inhibitory concentration 6.3 mg/ml for all organisms. highest 12.5 A. alternata while least MFC 6.3mg/ml. values observed to vary type organism tested. findings revealed that could be effective treatment plant. recommends in-vivo treating undertaken.
